Let’s Talk About Privilege
  • How do we talk about something that cannot be seen by the people who possess it?
  • Is it possible to be oppressed in some ways and privileged in others?
  • Why do people sometimes get defensive when shown evidence of structural inequalities which benefit them?
  • Im not marginalized because of my race, gender, class, etc., so why do others who are like me say that theyre marginalized?
  • Do systems of privilege only affect levels of empowerment, or can they actually create opportunities for some people to dominate others?
  • How can we move past feeling guilty for our privileges?
  • Can individual acts have an impact on broader underlying problems?
  • How can I take advantage of my privileged position to dismantle structures that oppress other people, even if theyre the same structures which gave me that privilege?

"Queer Dance Party"    is a dance party    where queers can feel            AWESOME.
being queer &/ gender-variant is amazing & powerful.being queer &/ gender-variant in straight society is harsh.
we need celebratory and wild space.we’re making it, demanding it — and defending it.
our fight is never over // our party is never over
join us.
